In the Beginning
Have you ever felt so strongly and so passionate about something that you could feel it resonate in your bones? Have you ever had visions of yourself accomplishing something so great or so powerful? Have you ever had thoughts of things that that seemed to mesh so well with who you are both inside and out? Those thoughts, those visions, those feelings seemed real, right? At that moment you felt as if you could accomplish those things along with much more right? In those moments no pause, or filter or doubt occurred, right? Those things were very real, very vivid and very personal. More personal than most things that you have encountered in regards to thoughts or feelings or visions, right? So why is it that those things seem to fade away so very easily, that once they begin to "feel" real something within comes along and snatches their very essence away?
Deep Seeded
It is called "discouragement." Discouragement is that feeling of creativity suddenly turning into thoughts or feelings of doubt. Discouragement is that thought that lingers in the back of your mind while you're trying to write that amazing business plan. Discouragement is that voice within that turns from "you can do this" to "who are you fooling". Discouragement is the reason why you never finish the things you start because you suddenly feel as if you can't or starting a new year's resolution in January only to stop before February because you feel it is a waste of time. Discouragement takes that very thing that had you feeling so amazing and so optimistic and producing fear, anxiety and deep seeded sadness. Discouragement is not created it is embedded within the mind and it peaks it's ugly head up as soon as you begin to create something beautiful for yourself.
Fight the Good Fight
Just because discouragement appears, does not mean that you have to bow down and give up. Discouragement in my opinion is a bunch of negative thoughts all wrapped in a package. Presented to you for the purpose of causing you to discontinue with the things that can be manifested through you. It takes away your desires, it weakens your mind and that further weakens your abilities. Without believing that you can attain something that something can not exist. You can not build a house if you never purchase supplies for it. You can not paint a picture without a canvas or paint. Discouragement takes away your belief, it strips you of the supplies that you need to build that house or paint that picture. Granted, it does not stop you from accomplishing anything, but it does weaken your thoughts which are the very beginning of anything that you wish to achieve. You have to fight! You have to learn to acknowledge when discouragement attempts to influence your thoughts so that you can build the necessary skills needed when that time comes.
The Power Lies Within You
In order to fight those thoughts of discouragement you must be equipped with the necessary equipment needed to do so. Every person is different, so what tool works for others may not be the right tool for you. A right handed person can not use left handed scissors, right? The same thing goes when it comes to finding the right tools to help you with the fight occurring within your thoughts. Some people wear a size 9 shoe, others wear a 7. Both people wear shoes but they just wear them in different sizes. It can be the exact same shoe in every way except for the size and ultimately the shoe serves the same purpose. You must find what works best for you. The mind is powerful and there are so many different ways to strengthen your thoughts and to fight back those thoughts that are not meant for your growth and happiness. Some people choose prayer and religion, others go with meditation and spirituality. Some people have a combination of both and some use neither. You must figure out what fits well with you, not anyone else. Take the initiative to really search for what it is that completes you and what honestly allows you to flourish and fight those negative thoughts.
